HISTORY

Box Street Design began in 2006 when Jessica Bender was in her first year of design school at Parsons New School for Design.  Already struggling to balance her projects and her budget, her landlord dissolved her apartment lease with little warning.  Jessica was forced to move to a seemingly remote section of Brooklyn, away from public transportation and the conveniences of the city. Despite her uncomfortable circumstances on Box Street, Jessica worked tirelessly to launch her design business so that she could take full advantage of all the city had to offer.  She named her endeavor Box Street Designs to signify her creative roots in determination and necessary improvisation.  Since her time in New York, Jessica’s work has expanded to New England, the Mid-Atlantic Region, and the West.
